Artist collective Leo Gabin (consisting of Lieven Deconinck, Gaëtan Begerem, and Robin De Vooght) redefines the tradition of found-object art by harvesting and recycling digital content into new configurations.
"In this age of the excessive use of images, for us it’s now more relevant than ever to use found footage and recycled imagery. Especially with an abundance of amateurish made “private” imagery put readily available online, the idea of authorship becomes even more questionable. But raising this question can be seen as the essence of the work."

Working across video, digital media, drawing, print, painting, and sculpture, they fashion their work directly from the internet’s unending proliferation of social networking content and images of celebrities, sex, and violence, often physically incorporating printed or downloaded content into their practice. The group are perhaps best known for their satirical video montages and frenzied, calligraphic, partially collaged abstract paintings, the latter revealing the influence of street art..
